Monday WWII Hot Finds Newsletter November 10, 2014

November 13, 2014

WWII_nov_10Welcome to today's issue of the WWII Hot Finds. I've got this issue loaded with a great mix of live eBay auctions in the largest military category.

Everyone in this category knows about eBay's prohibition on selling firearms. I had to take a second look at that "dummy" rifle listed in the left block because at first glance that Springfield looks ready to go.

There are lots of German goodies in this block. I'll highlight the Paratrooper helmet just to pick one among many nice listings. Like all good sellers this guy is generous in his photography. It's kinda neat you can still see the the impression left by the chicken wire.

Before you do a double take the seller of that Japanese Naval dirk is getting a little too fancy with Photoshop if you ask me. You might look at that thumbnail and assume there was more there than a simple blade that has been shown from six different angles in one photograph.

My dad is a nut for old model trains. I don't know that the Imperial German sign for sale below would fit in with this Lionel set but I like it regardless.

I had a nice time this weekend kayaking on a river in South Carolina. The water was pretty low and we had to portage eleven times around downed trees. You know it was a good trip when two days later my arms are still a little sore.
