Monday WWII Hot Finds Newsletter January 19, 2015

I am a day late but hopefully not a dollar short in serving up this issue of the WWII Hot Finds. Every once in a while technical difficulties and holidays can interfere with getting an issue out on time. Yesterday we took the Girl Scout troop to an indoor climbing wall since it was a holiday. So instead of building a newsletter late in the evening I thought I start fresh with Tuesday morning. Have fun!

I have a rather distant connection to the nice lot pictured below. It's from a fellow who was a gunner in a PBY in the Pacific. Turns out my wife's grandfather flew a PBY in the Philippines theater during the war. I can imagine him having some of the same gear notes in his flight book.

Selling firearms on eBay is foreboden so what the seller below is doing really reminds me of the old Johny Cash song. He is selling a Luger "one piece at a time" just like the Cadillac that the man in black was talking about in his song.

The Japanese bayonet below is kinda odd if you ask me. Looks like maybe the handle is broken off but maybe that's how they came?

As you can tell in this issue there are lots of knives, daggers and other pointy objects. Those seem to always be popular with the readers so I try to stick them in the newsletter when I can.

I hope you are looking forward to a great week. I'll have my regular issue out on Thursday and get back on schedule.
