Its not every day that ANYTHING in the WWII category of eBay sells for $15 grand but when it comes to impressive collections of Russian medals the auctions gods have been smiling.  The #2 selling item on this blog post sold for significantly less but with 22 bids it demonstrates that documentation counts for a lot with collectors.  You will enjoy reading the history lesson provided in the description for the Order of Nevsky medal.   If you are going to do a blog post about Russian medals you have to include an Order of Lenin as it's the highest honor that the USSR bestowed.  I round out this Top-5 list with an Admiral Ushakov medal.  All together each of these auctions went for over $1,000+ in eBay bidding over the last few weeks.
