I almost missed getting this newsletter out on Memorial Day. We had a lot going on with everybody home so this issue is a bit delayed. I hope you still have a minute to click through and see what I found up for auction on eBay.
Since it's a bit late I'll let you just click right in without trying to introduce any of these picks.
This German block features some big hitters in the popular category on eBay.

Today's issue of the WWII Hot Finds includes some surprises including great helmets, uniforms and a few auctions that will make you scratch your head. Enjoy!
I recently taught a lesson on the cold war and focused on the theory of "mutually assured destruction". A really cook artifact for that lesson is up for bids today - the A bomb pin. I don't know what that was made for but I could see some middle schoolers getting excited if you passed that around.
At first glance the mangled piece of metal in the pictures below looks like it was ripped off a crashed plane. This appears to be grip stick from an FW190. I'm surprised how well this battlefield souvenir is doing.
There are a couple of interesting head pieces in the bottom half of this newsletter. You can check out the 1930s era Italian helmet or to the left their is an Italian officers cap.
Since we are focusing on helmets take a look at the WWI era German helmet. You don't see many of these listed on eBay.
With Memorial Day coming up I hope that all of you take a minute to remember those who fell serving their country.

I've got a brand new batch of eBay's finest for you in today's issue.
Every week the largest military category on eBay reinvents itself and this email newsletter is here to catch you up. Every listing is a live auction with bids so click to see where these are before they close.
The German category is traditionally the 2nd largest in WWII trailing behind United States. In this category helmets and uniquely German items like binoculars seem to do well.
In WWII there are many smaller categories - some with only a few hundred items. This block catches up with those other categories such as Canada, Russia, Japan, United Kingdom and Italy.
A natural cousin to the WWII focus of this email newsletter is items from the First World War. This block has less than a dozen items featured but they are the leading auctions from that category.

When I'm on my "A" game I can get this newsletter out first think in the morning. There are some super picks in today's issue of the Hot Finds. Have fun!
There are several listings from the United States category to mention today. To the left there is a nice grouping from a vet who's unit photo was in Life Magazine. I also like the B-15 jacket that is up for bids below. Since patches are my favorite I hope you enjoy the squadron patch I spotted from a unit flying B-25 bombers.
I don't know quite know what to make of the German visor cap below. It looks very authentic but somehow the leather visor part is just unnaturally shiny for something that should be three quarters of a century old.
Since I featured a visor cap earlier let's call out the Italian example below. I think they took some special pride in their head gear. This one reportedly belonged to an Army general in the medical corp.
One of my favorite pieces of art is hidden in this block of WWI items. The War Bonds poster is one that I have hanging in my office. Luckily I got mine for a much better price than what this one is bringing on eBay.

I hope you have recovered from the weekend and are ready for some great military eBay auctions. I spent the weekend camping with the Scouts and trying to stay one step ahead of the tropical storm that came ashore in North Carolina.
I really like the rifleman lot that is pictured in the left hand block. The sellers does point out that it doesn't come with the shells or the hand grenades. That is a good disclaimer.
The nice Hungarian German Ally Tanker Panzer Leather Jacket has a good number of bids and looks pretty authentic to me.
Ok I have a confession to make. I have no clue what a Horsehair Sporran is. The one pictured below is Canadian. i suppose I could Google it but it seems like an odd piece if you ask me.
I don't often have mechanical things in the WW1 block. The Signal Corps Service Buzzer Telegraph is an exception and a pretty cool item.
This week I'm spending Wednesday and Thursday working my antique mall booths. Things have been pretty crazy lately but I need to get them topped off with some new inventory before the summer travel season gets here.
