Monday WWII Hot Finds Newsletter September 28, 2015

WWII_sep_28

I am sure it's just coincidence that I have two sets of aviator glasses pictured in this issue when that is something that almost never makes the cut.

There are some neat German listings here that should fit nicely in the collection of many Hot Finds loyal readers.

You can find some "red" auctions here including those that would have fit under an Imperial flag or a sickle. The collectors of those areas will like this block in particular.

The WWI block is the tail end of the newsletter but don't let that discourage you from checking these out.

I should get a Monday issue out every week but sometimes the start of the week is a little overwhelming! I hope you enjoyed getting this issue and will look forward to seeing a fresh Hot Finds this coming Thursday.

A little late in the day but still getting today's issued published for the WWII Hot Finds. Check out these auctions from the biggest military category on eBay.

When deciding what auctions to stick in the USA block of the Hot Finds it's always an easy decision when I see a great piece of insignia. Check out the US Army 14th Anti Aircraft Command Patch pictured below.

I know a few collectors who go after lighters so when I saw the German one included in this block it had to make the cut. Since it's over $200 I think I made a good choice.

In this block you can also find items from Canada that typically do pretty well on eBay. I've got some Canadian items in this block and the WWI block.

American equipment like the respirator gas mask below do well on eBay. If nothing else this would make one hell of a Halloween mask although I don't know if you'd want to wear it very long.

I always lead off this collector's newsletter with the United States category. It is the biggest on the site and always has some great picks to feature.  Check out what I've turned up this week by clicking on the links below.

The German category has always held down the 2nd spot in the newsletter as it's proved to be very popular among collectors. Helmets, knives, and binoculars are among the items you almost always find bidders chasing after in this block.

I don't have any analytics to suggest how popular this block is but I know there are dedicated collectors who go after these.

The WWI block is a natural fit for military collectors. Some of these items are very unique to that conflict but there is a good bit of crossover among interest areas for collectors.

Monday WWII Hot Finds Newsletter August 31, 2015

It's been a long vacation for the WWII Hot Finds and I hope you are happy to see this collector's newsletter. You might have noticed that it's also coming out very early in the day as opposed to the afternoon issue that was the old tradition. Click through these links to see some great live auctions in the category.

The A2 jacket pictured to the left is a $500+ auction that should only go higher. The paratroop jump jacket listed below doesn't look like it got too dirty so I don't know about that one.

With the return of the WWII Hot Finds newsletter I've got a really nice German lot pictured below. Right now it's also a $500+ auction that is doing well.

This block features many Russian, Japanese, and items from other countries. If you like helmets, swords or medals this block has some auctions for you!

One of the things that has slowed me down getting back to this edition of the Hot Finds has been my return to the classroom. I don't have a collection of posters but I've made a copy of the images from that propaganda poster listed below.

Getting back to doing this newsletter has been on my list for weeks now. I spent 10 days in Michigan during that time and have started a new job so there have been a lot of things getting in the way. Hopefully, my new routine will allow me to return to the 2/week schedule that worked so well for many years.
