I'm not sure I've ever done a Top 5 blog post for items from China but as you can see they are pretty sharp. Edged weapons dominated this list of recent high selling auctions. The one listing that was not so pointed was a round medal.

Now what military collector doesn't like vintage blades from the WWII era? There is always a lot of action on reasonably priced pieces from the period and these recent auctions on eBay represent some of the more unusual pieces that have sold recently on eBay. Click the links to see what these sharp auctions sold for.

You can always tell how high the minimum bid was set in an auction by the number of bids that come in. That is one reason why in the World War II Hot Finds I always include the number of bids because it tells you a lot about what happened in the auction. Below I have five great auctions that closed recently on eBay in the Japan category of WWII. As you can see most of these were competitive auctions that saw multiple bids. You might want to click on either the text or image link to see that bidding pattern. Its very possible that a sniper bid took home the prize.

One of the more popular areas of collecting in WWII is edged weapons. While everyone is used to seeing Japanese swords sell for thousands of dollars I want to shine some light across the board. So for this blog post I went back into the last week of sales in the category and looked for the top selling blades with one caveat. I only took one from the Japanese subcat. Giving those factors I found five listings that reach sold for a minimum of $1000 and on total sold for more than $18 thousand. In fact the 1944 commando knife was the top selling item in the entire WWII category last week!

A different look on WWII memorabilia on eBay is to look and see which auctions sparked some flat out bidding wars. All of these auctions had a minimum bid of less than $100. They also brought in more than 50 bids in very competitive auctions. 'Seasoned collectors will have no problem guessing which one of these items soared all the way from $99 to a final bid of $6800 .
