I've spotted some high dollar auctions on eBay this week and I want to share them with you in case you missed them.
In the left block you can see a classic A2 bomber jacket. However, there is an entire grouping of stuff in that auction and even through the bidding has reached $2k it still has not me the reserve.
The German paratrooper helmet might end before some of you read this newsletter but I had to include it. The listing is knocking on the door of $1,000+ and that's pretty special by what I've seen on eBay.
I still don't own a famous Fairbairn Sykes fighting knife but there is a really nice one listed below. I'm not sure it's the type of knife that I could take camping with the Scouts if you know what I mean.
I don't really get excited about dress swords since they were used in parades and not in real action. I think just about every time I do a WWI block one slips in and that is true today also.
This month I'll be doubling the size of my booth at Somewhere In Time Antiques in Lumberton, NC. I've made a deal with the owner to take over the booth space next to me so I'll be focused on that for a few days trying to bring in new items.

As always the Hot Finds has some fun picks from the biggest WWII category for you to choose from. I especially like the pick for today's United States category.
The patch that leads off today's might be familiar to a few of you. Its for the Marine Corps VMF-124 who were known as the Flying Aces in WWII. They saw their first action in 1943 deployed to Guadacanal. One notable achievement was being the first Marine Corps planes to be based on a fleet carrier. That patch will surely bring some $$.
At first sight you will say there shouldn't be a green uniform listed in a German category on eBay. Yes as is sometimes the case sellers will slip an item into the more popular categories trying to get some more publicity. In this case it's a nice Italian tropical uniform that sneaked in but the bidding is over $300 so maybe it worked.
Skipping right past all the Soviet medals let me point to a neat Japanese piece. So the Sub commander listing below is on eBay despite the fact that this officer went down with his boat on 7-12-1944. One can assume that his family had the visor for more formal occasions and it has not made it's way onto the market.
I know in my antique mall booth I can't keep a bugle. So when I saw the sharp one listed below I had to include it in this World War I block.
I spent the morning organizing and cleaning my garage. How many of you need to do that chore!? Have a great week.

Inside today's Hot Finds Newsletter you can find several dozen of the top auctions getting bids on eBay. I hand pick them twice a week and these are headed into the weekend and ending soon.
I thought maybe with the movie American Sniper being so popular that the US Army scope below would be doing a little better but there is still time.
Technology might have been to the German's advantage during the early states of the war but I wouldn't give them too much credit for that Wehrmacht back pack. Can you imagine carrying that for a 10 mile hike?
Aviator items always get a little boost in bidding so I'll feature the nice Italian grouping pictured below that includes some collectible wings.
As we all know modern military aviation really got it's first test in WWI. So when I spotted a vintage Aviator cap I figured the bidding would be strong and boy was I right.
We dodged the snow store that hit most of North Carolina last night so I'm sitting here counting my blessings. Our kids have missed 5 days of school over the last two weeks so this winter weather has got to go away.

Today I'm going to spot light some really unusual items that made it into the Hot Finds and are alive and kicking with the hours counting down. Check out the special picks below.
Well this just sounds like a real bad idea. A billy club with a tear gas canister hidden in the handle. If I was going to get close enough to knock someone over the head with a baton I don't know that the natural mate to that is a canister of tear gas. Not sure that is truly WWII but it was in the category and it's pretty unusual.
It is hard to pass up interesting gas masks when you are looking for unique items to stick in the German block. The group below looks like it's been used and includes the container that the soldier would have stored it in. You could always buy this and use it as a Halloween mask to scare the crap out of someone.
I don't know if the post office really wants people shipping inert hand grenades around but this one is sorta a piece of art so maybe they'll turn the other cheek.
Sometimes an item that doesn't look that special can really take off in this category. Check out the cartridge belt below and see if the bidding fits with your expectations.

Be sure to spend a little time clicking through to see everything I turned up in the biggest military category on eBay - you won't be disappointed.
You still have a few minutes before the USN squadron jacket pictured below closes. It clearly is an estate find that has sat in a closet for a long long time.
If you have a few extra minutes click on the photo album listed below. The seller probably has 100+ pictures from the album visible and it's neat to just browse through them.
I like the seller user id of the Air Crew medal below. At least you know what he is selling!
There is a really nice German cavalry sword listed below. It closes tonight and is already over $400 in bidding.
I went through a couple days with spotty electricity thanks to the recent winter storm to hit the south. Luckily it's done but Jack Frost has left behind some bitter cold air.
