I spent today visiting a charter school in Greensboro with the principal of my daughter's school to get some ideas. I've been helping out on some committees and my background is education so it was a natural fit. Now that I am home from traveling and being a do-gooder I can get out the newsletter!
Let's do this math. The field ration packet below has 600 calories packed into it. If its selling for $132 in a live auction how much will the buyer pay per calorie. See you can learn match on eBay!
The u-boat commander cap is a good pick from this block. The wording of the auction almost makes it sound like a replica but surely it's authentic....right?
You have to admire using a very authentic looking model to sell the British goggles below. I'm sure just that good photography increased his click-through rate a bunch.
I've always thought the ceremonial helmets with the pointy tips were comical but check out the auction on a cloth cover for one below. Sheesh!
Sorry for getting this issue out late in the day but hopefully you have a few minutes to check out these picks.

I hope you have a few spare minutes to click through to these top picks from the WWII category on eBay. I've found some auctions that have two dozen or more bids and that to me is a vote that it's noteworthy for the newsletter.
I think just about every WWII move I've seen has somebody trying to call for help using one of those old fashioned Walkie Talkies. That is pretty nice one that so far has 27 bids. There are plenty of other American auction picks in this block.
I took a close look at that flight jacket. If you click over there its hard to believe that black leather still shines so well all these years later. I assume it's all above board but man that is a new looking 70+ year old jacket.
This block probably has more Soviet medals than most of you wold prefer. But don't forget to check out the helmets including the Italian one pictured in the left block that is over $500 in bidding.
Maybe my favorite pick in this block is the Canadian loan campaign banner. It has 39 bids so I'm not the only fan!
I am taking the Scouts camping this weekend. We are going to do some compass work along with learning knots and practice fire building. Wish me luck!

I might have mentioned before that one of the few things that my wife's family still has that represents her grandfather's WWII service is his flight log book. I remember reading notes where he was flying a PBY near the Phillipines. So when I saw the nice little book from the Pacific on eBay I stuck it in today's block.

I have an old friend who enjoys taking his 1976 VW Transporter (bus) out on the road to different VW club camping trips. I don't know that I've seen a German helmet with the VW logo so plainly stenciled in. I guess my generations association with that symbol doesn't jive with being on a war helmet.
I always like taking a look at hold military posters so the WWI era Navy recruiting poster was a good fit for this block.
I got drafted to serve on another committee at my daughter's school. At some point I need to learn to say "no". Hopefully, most of you know how to do that better than I do.
