Last week I took a closer look at some of the less obvious corners of the WWII collectibles market on eBay. Today I'm checking in on Poland to see what some of the top selling items have been recently. As you can see these include a pair of great blades that grabbed their spots atop the rankings after some furious bidding. The rest of the list includes a nice uniform shirt and some really neat insignia pins. Click on the links to get a better look at these listings.

This list of Top 5 items from WWII on eBay includes a couple of squadron patches that have some history to tell. The USMC Night Fighters patch is a beauty. The VMF-N-532 was one of the few Marine air squadrons during the war. The need for this type of resource became apparent during the Battle of Guadalcanal when the Navy was unable to successfully attack Japanese aircraft carriers at night. The VMF squadron flew planes that featured radar equipped aircraft, ground based radar and personnel that provided Ground-controlled interception (GCI). The F4U Corsair was a primary plane flown and was based on carriers. The 14th Air Commando Squadron is really more of a post war group that makes a name for itself in the Vietnam conflict. Operations included close and direct air support, interdiction, combat airlift, aerial resupply, visual and photographic reconnaissance, unconventional warfare, counterinsurgency operations, psychological warfare (including leaflet dropping and aerial broadcasting), forward air control operations and escort, search and rescue, escort for convoy and defoliation operations, flare drops, civic actions, and humanitarian actions. Be sure to click on these auction so you can see the items up close - they are worth it!

Take a look at these top selling auctions from the German subcategory of WWII on eBay. The first item up is one of the highly valuable binoculars that you see pop up for sale on eBay from time to time. Its been a long time since I remember seeing German flight pants that have the wiring built in. However, I'd have to say I've never had in my blog the red cross version of the German helmet or the tropical hat. Click these to see how they ended on eBay.

Fascist daggers, colorful hats and ornate insignia. It can only be Italian collectibles from WWII. This Top 5 list features some high selling auctions from recent activity on eBay that are worth a closer look. All of these turned out to be very competitive auctions with just a few getting out of hand to the favor of the seller.

When you are looking at British items from World War 2 that collectors chase after are there two more iconic items than the Lee Enfield sniper scope and the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife. Whenever these classics pop up on eBay the final price always commands respect. The other two listings that are not as familiar to me are the medals. There are a good number of medals that sell in this subcategory of WWII and these two did exceptionally well.
