This week I went to visit a lady who allowed me to come home with her late husbands camping gear. I spent yesterday washing pots, musty plastic totes and sorting it all out. I think it will be some good equipment for my Scout troop. Now on to the top picks in the big military category of eBay.

One of the fun auctions in this block is the USMC back pack radio. The seller has lots of pictures so you can really see the guts of this relic. He claims when it was put on a shelf ten years ago that it worked.

I haven't featured a helmet in this German only block in a while. So today I'll point you to the wire basket helmet below that has over 30 bids.

A nice pick in this block is the Canada WW2 Newfoundland Rangers Officer Cap Badge. The seller states that he has gotten in a big collection from a recently passed West Coast collector. I'm guessing we will be seeing more pieces from him in this block soon.

You might call it a mixed lot below. The Princess Mary tin contains lots of soldier souvenirs and there might be some nice pieces in there.

This weekend I am going to a friends river cabin for a little 24-hour vacation. We are going to eat, drink and paddle on a black water river. It's going to be fun!

Check out today's big military auctions on eBay in the WWII Hot Finds Newsletter. Each of these listings was hand-picked and are worth a closer look.

I always keep an eye out for patches and the one below hasn't been in the Hot Finds that I can remember. It is a US Army Airborne Command patch. So far it's approaching $200 with over 30 bids.

The featured item for this WWII block is first up below. For a little over $400 you can get in on the bidding on the Luftwaffe jacket. It looks very sharp and might be on some of your watch lists already.

Instead of talking about an auction from this block let me mention a sharp one just to the left in that side block. The
Finnish Civil Guard Bayonet and Scabbard is over 30 bids and is finishing very soon on eBay.

If there is one WWI auction in this block you should check out I'd point to the 81st "Wildcat" Division Infantry Officer's Uniform and Helmet. I think that is a pretty solid listing all the way around no matter what you collect.

I had a great weekend setting up a Scout history display and doing a little talk this past weekend. The camp that I was at has been running for 85 years and I had some pictures that went all the way back to the beginning.

This weekend I'm going camping to my old Scout camp that I grew up going to. A few times every year I get to head back to my old stomping grounds and renew friendships. I hope you have something lined up this Halloween weekend that will be a lot of fun.

Growing up my brother liked to play with the classic GI Joe figures. I'm not sure but I think one of the accessories looked a lot like that walkie talkie listed below that is doing really well at auction.

The nice GERMAN R.A.D. LABOR CORPS SERGEANT RANK N.C.O TUNIC below is over $400 and still has 3 days to go until it closes.

The unusual looking medal below is actually a BRITISH Long Service Good Conduct MEDAL that is ending in the next hour. Check it out to see where it ends up.

Catch up with some of the best selling items in the sister category. This block of just under a dozen auctions has some of the top items in the WWI category.

I put in an application for a booth at an antique mall about 45 minutes from my home at the end of last week. I hope to hear something soon although I understand they have a waiting list.

The Hot Finds is coming off a big auction weekend thanks to some eBay listing specials. Today's issue will zero you in on some of the best live auctions in the largest military category on eBay.

Pictured below in this block check out the Original WWII British Made ETO 8th AAF Pilot's Jacket Bullion Insignia. It's a pretty interesting piece in this American block.

In this block there is a nice Luftwaffe holster for a 37M Femaru Pistol. I don't usually single out these items but today I thought I'd point out something that wasn't a super valuable helmet or binoculars.

I'm sure in the next day the British Pilots RAF Flying Helmet Goggles & Oxygen Mask below will trip over $400 in heavy bidding. Its a great looking piece.

The vintage trenching tool below is almost over $250 with twenty-two bids so far. Not bad for something that was used to dig holes a hundred years ago.

I had a great time camping with the scouts over the weekend. We did get some warm weather which brought out the mosquitoes but other than that everyone came home dirty, stinky and smiling.

I am taking my Girl Scout troop camping this weekend so wish me luck. We are going primitive camping for the first time with no electricity so this should be a true test. I hope you'll take a minute to click on these auctions and see what's live on eBay.

I can really sympathize with the seller of the 101st Airborne patch below as I have picked the wrong image to be the featured thumbnail many times. But then again maybe people are clicking on it because they know its a goof-up.

That Kriegsmarine ring is pretty unusual. The seller claims he has the provenance for it so that might help the auction get some last minute bidding.

The Devil's Brigade tunic is over $1,000 in bidding and still has a few hours to go. I'd check that one out if you want to see a sweet uniform.

Check out these WWI auctions that represent the best of the best in that smaller cousin category to the main focus of this eBay auction newsletter.

I went to check out a new antique mall today that I'm considering putting a booth in to expand my offerings. I'll let you know if it works out - turns out they have a waiting list.
