Welcome to a few new readers today who have just gotten on the list for this military collectors newsletter. I hope you enjoy and tell a friend about the WWII Hot Finds.

Now here is a seller thinking on his feet. If you are selling something mechanical like in this case a phonograph then how can you prove it still works. Easy! Just record a video of it playing and post it on Youtube. Put the link in your auction and you are good to go.

I have seen German helmets go for big money but a helmet decal? What! Yes click down below and you will find a simple original helmet decal that is over $400 in heavy bidding.

The nice British bayonet below is going for right at $300 as I go to publish this issue. There are some other nice pieces in this block that covers several countries featured in the WWII category.

By the time you catch up with this email and can click on the trench fighting knife below it might have ended. However, it's over $1000 in bidding so take a look anyways.

I am off tonight to begin my term as Vice-President of the PTO. Yes one of the perks (can I call it that?) of working from home is that I have time to volunteer at my kid's school. I'm literally the only dad on the PTO board. lol

I hope you have a minute to check out these great military auctions that have been hand picked for this collector's newsletter.

Ok this one caught me surprise today and proved that I still have a lot to learn. The WWII Nichols fighting knife listed below is over $2,000 and still has not met reserve. It is a beauty of a knife and don't miss it today!

I would imagine that as far as German helmets the tanker one pictured below is towards the bottom of the pecking order. It doesn't look as impressive as the classic ones that I feature in just about every issue of the newsletter.

I know some readers from Canada are on the subscription list so in this block I try to include some pieces from North of the border if I can make it happen. Today's piece is the Royal Canadian Air Force Tunic. It's approaching bids of $200 and ending very soon.

Whether you collect just one country, one specific niche in the hobby this WWI block might have something for you. For example German collectors might like the Imperial bayonet and belt hanger that is ending in about 3 hours on eBay that is first up in this block.

It's homecoming this weekend so my family is traveling to Columbia, SC to visit family and see a college football game. So far my home team has lost the pair of games I saw in person so far this year and here's to hoping it doesn't happen again.

I have another loaded issue of this military collector's newsletter for you featuring some of the best live auctions on eBay. Click to check out what I've turned up.

Sometimes the seller will post the questions that come in to the wall of the auction. In the case of the old German camera below somebody tried to pick it off at $300 and asked the seller to close the auction. Good decision to say no as this auction has nearly doubled that offer.

It is rare that I tout a Japanese sword in this block because I know it's a pretty small group of collectors that go for these. Still it's hard to ignore the multiple listings in this block for vintage swords.

The WWI block is a welcome finish to this issue of the Hot Finds Newsletter. While not everybody goes back this far with their collection there is some crossover and I think some folks will like what they see here.

We are staying home this weekend which is a welcome relief. Outside of a few soccer games I think it's going to be a peaceful few days if the weather holds.

Monday WWII Hot Finds Newsletter October 6, 2014

I've decided in today's issue of the Hot Finds I'm going to focus on jackets. That's probably because fall is in the air and I've been breaking into my coat closet this week after a long summer.

The nice WWII Army Leather Bomber Flight Jacket Type A2 pictured below is a size 44. Now I could probably fit into that one assuming that the measurements and age haven't shrunk the jacket down from there.

I've got another uniform jacket featured in this block. The condition is holding down the bids on this German Luftwaffe winter uniform jacket. eBay user italianwarfront has that one up at auction.

Since jackets are my theme for this issue the one I'll recommend to you in this block comes from Canada. The Argyll and Sutherland Tunic and Glengarry 4th Armoured Div
is about to hit $300 and might fetch more before it closes.

Sticking with the Canadians for this final block in the email newsletter I've got a nice 1915 Victory Loan poster that is doing really well with over 50 bids.

I hope you enjoyed today's issue. Don't forget I maintain an archive of the Hot Finds email newsletters at my website WWIIHotFinds.com.
