I guess a few of you noticed that I did not get an issue out last Thursday. It being Christmas there was just a little too much excitement at the house for me to slip away and handle my editor duties. I hoe you can get your ebay gixe with this issue.

There is some small print on that Medal of Honor listing that lets you know it is a museum copy. However, the seller is out of the UK so I don't know if he is as worried about the law over hear. I do think eBay would shut down the auction listing if it was an authentic copy but that is pretty unlikely considering how many have been awarded.

I guess I can't fault the seller of the nice German photo album for putting bright water marks on all this listing photos. You can still enjoy seeing the pictures including a photo of a black soldier which makes you think how did that scene unfold.

The title sounds kinda cool - motorcycle dispatch coat but the auction is a little disappointing. There is no unit insignia and the coat has only attracted a single bidder.

The bidding is going really well for that nice bolo knife pictured below. It's up to 22 bids and is over $200.

By the end of the week I should be opening a second antique mall location in Florence, SC. This one is at the Palmetto Peddlers which is a really nice mall right near the intersection of I-95 and I-20.

WWII_dec_23

It's the week of Christmas for those of you who celebrate that holiday. For my part we have family coming in Wednesday and the big morning for the kids will be on Thursday. I should have an abbreviated newsletter out that day because you know I hate to get off schedule.

The nice A2 jacket pictured to the left is named - literally. The guy stenciled his name across the back of the jacket. I can't say I've seen that too many times but I guess it makes it easier to keep up with yours when things getting busy.

In this German block I've got several helmets that should be good picks for some of the readers. So far these seem to be hanging around $200.

Since I don't collect this I have a hard time wrapping my mind around someone paying $400+ for the shoulder stock below. I'm sure some people would think I'm crazy if they knew what I paid for a few items too!

I've already mentioned German helmets but there are another couple in this block to take a look at. Of course these are a good bit older as they are from WWI.

TODAY'S

I am a little late in the day getting this issue out but I think you'll find most of these auctions are still alive and kicking. Check out the featured auctions that I'll touch on a little more in each block.

In the top left corner the 101st Airborne Uniform & Hat CIB Jump Wings has a few hours left before it closes. This piece comes from a named collection which might do something for a few of the readers.

I am bit surprised what the Kriegsmarine belt is going for in the auction pictured below. There is not even a dagger in there and it's over $500 with time left.

Helmets are a pretty big collecting niche for military pickers and the nice British paratrooper helmet below is getting some good bids.

In the listings to the left of this block I have several photo albums that are fun to look at. Sometimes that seller will just about share every single photo in the book which makes for great window shopping even if you don't want to buy it.

I am not sure I gave a report on the show that I took my daugther to last weekend. She did fine. It helped that one of the other dealers had his grandson there and they got to hang out and be silly together. She is ready to go to another one with me so that's always a good sign.
