See this exchange between the eBay seller of the Italian paratrooper helmet below and a potential vulture who wanted to get her to shut down the auction. Oh by the way she didn't and it sold for an amazing $15,100!!!
Q: hallo, have you buy it now price for this helmet? thanks, enrico
A: Hello Enrico, I am so sorry but I will let it go all the way through the auction. But thank you so much for your interest. Ivey
Now read what this other potential buyer had to say about people like Enrico:
Q: Hello... this helmet might be very rare... and worth thousands. please let the auction run... and don't let some scumbag dealer ask you to end early with a low ball offer. nobody will offer you more than an item is worth to end early. this looks a lot like Mussollini's helmet??
A: Yes, the auction will run and I have had some very good offers. Someone else has suggested that it may be related to Mussolini. Thank you, Ivey
All of the items in this post were sold in the German subcategory of WWII on eBay. Not all share the pedigree that the #1 item does (which by the way was in my Hot Finds email!) but they are very nice regardless. For example, the #2 item was a a flawless Zeiss binocular that went for over $9k.

The best selling British item from the last couple of weeks on eBay ended up being a pair of restoration ready Airborne bicycles out of Massachusetts. After that it seems as if the Royal Air Force stepped up to the plate to claim some of the remaining spots. A single bid took home two different RAF Oxygen Mask listings on a buy-it-now sale. A BIN sale also took home the paratrooper helmet coming in a #4 on this list. If you take a close look at the final item in the list you just wouldn't believe that boots from 1936 could look so good!

Its not every day that ANYTHING in the WWII category of eBay sells for $15 grand but when it comes to impressive collections of Russian medals the auctions gods have been smiling. The #2 selling item on this blog post sold for significantly less but with 22 bids it demonstrates that documentation counts for a lot with collectors. You will enjoy reading the history lesson provided in the description for the Order of Nevsky medal. If you are going to do a blog post about Russian medals you have to include an Order of Lenin as it's the highest honor that the USSR bestowed. I round out this Top-5 list with an Admiral Ushakov medal. All together each of these auctions went for over $1,000+ in eBay bidding over the last few weeks.

If you want to see the Top-5 recent sales in the Japanese category of WWII on eBay you know there are going to be some sharp auctions in there. In fact only one item made it in this list that wasn't a sword. These auctions were so good that none of them sold for less than $2,000.

I can honestly say I've been on eBay since 1998 and I don't remember ever seeing an auction that collected 135 bids. The real question is do you think that this really could be Heinrich Himmler's ring as the seller suggests? Judging by the selling price its very possible that at least a few bidders were willing to take a chance on it! This list shows the top-5 selling items from the last week on eBay.
