What you usually find in a bidding war that pushes over 50 bids is that there is a lot of incremental action going on. These are auctions that are not won by snipers. They have somebody sitting at their computer trying to top the other guy out $5 at a time. That would certainly appear to be the case with some of these auctions which I spotted on eBay. All of these auctions sold for more than $100 with one of them going for more than $800. Can you figure out which one?

A different look on WWII memorabilia on eBay is to look and see which auctions sparked some flat out bidding wars. All of these auctions had a minimum bid of less than $100. They also brought in more than 50 bids in very competitive auctions. 'Seasoned collectors will have no problem guessing which one of these items soared all the way from $99 to a final bid of $6800 .

Sometimes reading all the way through the questions section of an auction provides such a treat. Such is the case with the top selling item last week on eBay - the paratrooper trousers. If you follow the link below you can see that the seller was offered $4500 to shut the auction down early. Luckily for himself and the rest of us he shunned that offer and let it roll. And roll it did - with 4 different bidders offering over $10,000 for the auction. You'll have to click over to see the final price. The other auctions below round out the Top-5 list from the last week in World War II on eBay.

One of the types of auctions that I love to see in the Hot Finds are large collections sometimes called groupings by sellers. You usually see very competitive bidding in these listings as the typical minimum bid is much less then the eventual sales price. Click on these completed auctions from the last month to see the best of the best that sold.

Here are the Top-5 selling items from the last thirty days on eBay. So how many times can you (or anybody) say they've seen an auction go from $1 to $12,000 in the span of a 7-day auction? One of the Top 5 items below actually did that. The flip side is I also have an item that was listed at $20,000 but sold for about 1/3 of that using the BIN "best offer" option. In this grouping you can also find a .99 cent auction that cracked the $5k mark thanks to a pair of snipes.
